Alright. So this is for those of you who are new to Role-Play and require a bit of extra help, or those of you that may/may not want a refresher.
1. When you write a post, try to do it in a process like this:
Thought. Speech (if any) Action. Etc.
2. In a thread with multiple people, you should respond to each event in order. It keeps the flow.
3. Try to be descriptive, but not overly descriptive, for example, if you describe every aspect of a door, I think it's pretty obvious we know what a door looks like. However, if the door is destroyed it may be:
The wooden surface of the door was stained red with blood, the entire top-right corner had been destroyed as if by something smashing clean through it.
4. Try to be creative. In other words, try to use different words for that have the same meaning.
E.G. Don't always use "fun" or "pretty." Try "Enjoyable" or "Elegant."
5. Try to make sure you're not over-doing it. Length doesn't equal quality.

Fight Scenes
1. When fighting, try to keep the descriptive nature in your movements and attacks, it leaves less openings for future hits/easy dodges.
Bad: Rei blocked the opponent's kick, but the punch surprised him. He countered with a kick.
Good: Rei blocked the opponent's kick by catching the opponent's leg, hoever, he was too busy smiling over his victory at this moment that the opponent had time to punch him directly in the face.
Rei released the enemy's leg, as if throwing them back slightly, and aimed a spinning kick for the center of the opponent's torso.
2. Your character should always take some damage, it doesn't mean that every punch has to break a bone, or every cut has to cut off a limb.
However, there are times when attacks are blatantly avoidable by your character's abilities. If these are present, go ahead and avoid, if they are always present, try to be realistic about the damage you take:
Bad: Rei dodged the opponent's kick
Rei dodged the opponent's slash
Good: Rei dodged the opponent's kick by leaping back into the air.
Rei dodged the opponent's slash, but only barely, the weapon grazed by his shoulder and drew just a little blood.
3. Be realistic about your characters abilities, being a Yokai/Priest/Priestess will give you abilities beyond that of a normal human, but you shouldn't be able to run on walls, for example.
4. Remember. This is feudlal Japan. No one wields ranged weapons beyond bows and muskets, the bows need arrows, and the muskets take awhile to re-load. You shouldn't constantly act as though you have an infinite supply of arrows or an instantly re-loading musket.
5. To write a good fight scene, remember everything should go between several phases:
Thought - Defense or attack - The one you didn't do. - Done.
6. You guys really shouldn't spam special attacks. Try using 1 per post, and more powerful abilities should take a few posts for a "cool-off period."
